limofoundation.org™, the global consortium of mobile leaders delivering a common handset platform based on Linux for use by the whole mobile industry, today announced the selection by its Board of Directors of LiMo’s Officers.The newly confirmed officers for include: • Morgan Gillis, limofoundation.org – Executive Director • Kiyohito Nagata, NTT DOCOMO – Chairperson • Guido Arnone, Vodafone – Vice Chairperson • SG Hong, Samsung – Vice Chairperson • Roy Sugimura, PMC – Treasurer • Alastair Sheehan, limofoundation.org – Corporate Secretary In keeping with its principles of open and transparent governance, any interested company may join the organization and run for seats on limofoundation.org’s Board of Directors. Once elected, one of the initial duties of Board members is to elect the limofoundation.org Officers. During their one-year term, limofoundation.org Officers assume critical leadership roles and responsibilities as the organization and its innovative open source technologies continue to expand and mature. “LiMo was founded on the principles of openness and transparency, and successful election and confirmation of our officers is an endorsement of our unique governance model,” said Morgan Gillis, executive director, limofoundation.org. “Under the guidance of our new officers, in conjunction with the Board of Directors and the membership at large, the limofoundation.org is set to continue its pioneering role in bringing openness to the mobile ecosystem and unlocking innovation at every point along the mobile value chain.” |
